Private plan and child NHS patients will be emailed their next recall appointments once they have completed their treatment. Adult NHS patients will be contacted by our automated recall system when due and invited to book appointments. You will receive a reminder of your appointment a couple of days before by text or email. This reminder will ask you to complete all necessary forms by accessing a portal. We require completion of these forms 48 hours prior to attendance. We may not be able to see you if you have not completed them.

Cancellations and Missed Appointments

As valued patients at Bax Dental we appreciate you have busy lives which may mean you are not always able to attend your dental appointments. Here at Bax Dental we text and email you reminders of your appointments. Please ensure that we have your correct details for this service. If you do need to cancel, please contact us within a reasonable time and we will endeavour to rearrange your appointments.

Please note that failure to attend an appointment or giving inadequate notice of cancellation (i.e less than 48hrs) means that we are unable to offer the appointment to other patients and therefore a charge will be incurred. Patients missing or cancelling appointments at short notice may not be offered routine appointments again or may be asked to pay a non-refundable deposit when booking a new appointment.

Dental Plan Patients

For those patients that are on the dental plan, if you miss or cancel (less than 48hrs) a routine appointment (i.e. exam, hygienist) you will have to wait until your next routine appointment. If you miss or cancel an appointment for treatment, then you will be charged a private fee.

Private Patients

For those patients who pay for their treatment on a pay as you go basis, if you miss an appointment or give less than 48hrs notice you will be charged depending on time of the appointment missed. A further appointment will not be made until the failed charge is settled.

NHS Patients

For NHS patients who undertake NHS courses of treatment at the practice and miss appointments or give less than 48 hours’ notice on more than 2 occasions, will no longer be offered further appointments. Additionally, patients who do not attend their agreed examination recall may not be offered further appointments under NHS arrangements. The practice works to strict NHS targets to offer NHS treatment. If patients don’t attend, then the funding is taken from the practice.

This policy and relevant procedures will be reviewed annually, through staff meetings on a rolling programme, and will be reviewed by December of each year, or prior to this date, in accordance with new guidance or legislative changes.

Payment Methods

Cash, cheque, debit and credit cards are accepted. We do ask for payment to be made if treatment is carried out on the same day. Please contact reception for an up to date fee guide.
